Domingo Hermanos Winery and Vineyards

Domingo Hermanos is a family enterprise unique on the area of Cafayate, Salta, Argentina, in the sense that its owners are natives and continue to make Cafayate their home. The company is managed by Osvaldo "Palo" Domingo and his wife, Leonor, along with their three children: Osvaldo, who is an agronomist, Gabriel and Rafael.
The company originated around 1960 when "Palo" and his brother Martin acquired a piece of land in Cafayate. Today the business has grown and Domingo Hermanos owns 90 hecatares of fine grape vineyards in this prime location, cultivating mainly Torrontés, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Responding to a need in the market, the company built its own winery in the late 1970's. The winery has a production capacity of six million liters a year and is equipped with the latest technology. The company also consults with experts in the field and is thus able to produce fine wines of the best quality. Domingo Hermanos is a leader in the Argentine Northwest and exports its wines to Bolivia, Germany, Lithuania, and the United States.

Cafayate - Salta
Cafayate is the most important viticulturist center of the Argentine Northwest. Located in the Calchaquies Valleys, at 1700 meters above sea level, its climate is characterized by a wide range of temperatures. Rains are insufficient for the cultivation of grapevines-between 100-200mm yearly- making it necessary for wine producers to use irrigation ditches carrying water from the rivers and from the melting snows of the adjacent Andean pre-cordillera. The soil is sandy, loose, and slightly arid. It is rich in potassium, calcium and magnesium, but poor in nitrogen and phosphorus. According to specialists, the lack of nitrogen enhances and increases the characteristic aroma and taste of each grapevine stock. The most abundant varietal is the Torrontés.

Yocochuya
Located at 6600 ft above sea level on the foothills of the Andes. The name in the Quechuan Iindian language means "Place of honorable people". Due to the special characteristics of the terroir, Domingo Hermanos has decided to cultivate here only red varieties. The vineyards are surrounded by an old settlement where direct descendents of the first inhabitants reside, still living in the old ways of their ancestors. 17th Century Ruins and a Chapel representing the Spaniards arrival to the area add to the enchantment of this mystical place.
Domingo Hermanos' wines include the Finca de Domingo Torrentés, Finca de Domingo Malbec, Domingo Molina Malbec, and Domingo Molina Cabernet Sauvignon.
