93pts, Robert Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate #161 10/31/05 "Lastly, the opaque ruby/purple-colored 2002 Shiraz Tribal Elder was fashioned from low yields of one ton of fruit per acre, aged in 100% new French oak for 12 months, and then spent an additional 12 months in one-year-old French barrels. A big wine at 14.9% alcohol, this deep purple-hued Shiraz is surprisingly light on its feet. Aromas and flavors of white flowers, black raspberries, cassis, and subtle oak are followed by a medium to full-bodied offering boasting a sweet mid-palate, an alluring texture, and a rich, concentrated, long finish. It should drink well for 10-12 years." |
