91+ Wine Advocate Issue #191 Oct 2010
Using 100% barrel fermentation in 30% new French oak, the 2008 Chardonnay saw a good proportion of natural fermentation, some oxidative winemaking and no malo-lactic. It gives a complex, meaty / savory nose with notes of oatmeal, toast, cashew, ripe apricots and pineapple. The medium bodied palate offers great texture at a moderate level of alcohol (around 13.5%) and very crisp acidity cuts through the concentrated flavors lingering well into the long, layered finish. Approachable now, this Chardonnay has the capacity to develop and drink to 2016+. 1500 cases were made. 90 pts Wine Spectator Web Only-2010
Bright and juicy, a lively mouthful of grapefruit, apple and spice aromas and flavors that lilt through the finish. Drink now through 2014. 150 cases imported. 90 pts Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jul/Aug 2009 Light, bright yellow. Pungent herbs complement fresh quince and pear on the nose. Juicy orchard fruit flavors are braced by zesty minerality, turning riper and fleshier on the close. I really like this wine's uncompromising, sharply focused personality.
