91 pts Wine Advocate & Stephen Tanzer - Nicely balanced by lively acidity, and with excellent length
Tasting
Notes
Lite golden green in colour the wine has quince and pineapple characters with citrus overtones. The palate is rich and luscious without being cloying with delicious nuts and dried fruit flavours coupled with distinctive Hunter Valley citrus. The wine finishes long and clean with fresh citrus acidity which saves it from being cloying.

91 pts Wine Advocate #173
An elegant dessert wine with a lovely perfume of peach, apricot, and botrytis aromas. Nicely balanced by lively acidity, and with excellent length, drink this tasty elixir with fruit tarts or cheesecake.
91 pts Stephen Tanzer 2007
Deep gold. High-pitched peach, apricot skin and green tea scents are complicated by wet stones and dried flowers. Pit fruit flavors are deep and sweet, and nicely braced by suave acidity. This gains focus and energy on the long, spicy finish, maintaining an impressive interplay between ripeness and vibrancy. Less than 80% of the grapes were botrytized, according to Andrew Margan.
87 pts Wine Enthusiast Magazine (JC) This sweet Sémillon features a high-toned, almost floral note to go with more common aromas of orange peel and dried apricots. The orange and apricot flavors are less heavy and sticky than some other botrytis Sémillons, suggesting it might pair well with foie gras or cheeses as well as less intense desserts.
Winemaker Notes
Reduced yields in 2006 coupled with a long dry vintage produced white wines of exceptional quality. The onset of natural botrytis was slow and steady however the end result made the wait worthwhile. This wine was picked at the equivalent of 23 baumé, which ensures a rich luscious palate but had sufficient whole fruit to ensure that we have plenty of primary fruit characteristics. No oak was used and the wine was bottled early to ensure its fresh fruit characters are maintained.
