Notes
4/27/10
The 2007 Ferngrove ‘Majestic’ Cabernet Sauvignon offers up cool climate aromas with notes of cassis and black currant etched with the varietals tell tale herbal, leafy component along with some olive and cedar spice notes on the nose. The palate has a beautiful construct with noted fruit purity, black berry and cassis pushing up through the finer grained, gripping, focusing tannins. Medium fuller bodied, combining sweet dark currant and black berry fruit with some savory earth based, herbal characteristics, this is a classic illustration of a cool climate Cabernet that got ripe. Impressive for its fruit purity yet possessing some noted tannin grip on the finish, this has the structure for at least another 5-6 years of cellaring quite easily.

The bouquet has aromas of pure cassis, cedar and an attractive core of savoury black olive; the palate is quite firm and rugged, with toasty oak and plenty of tannin; good levels of sweet fruit eventually take over the structure. Screwcap. 14% alc. To 2016
