Wines like this will help change the overall perception of what Pinotage is, or can be, to be more correct. Loaded up with gobs of sweet, juicy dark fruit, plump in texture, palate coating yet balanced with some nicely woven in mocha and toast notes, this is an outstanding example of where this much maligned can take you. There are many in South Africa who believe that this varietal can make it to the higher level of the playing field; this particular label within the Fairview portfolio seems to be going from strength to strength. Quite impressive and on the way up, this is still knitting together and should offer exceptional enjoyment over the next 6-7 years.

Bright, deep ruby-red. Deep aromas of dark berries, coffee and smoky oak. Rich, broad, sweet and powerful, with very ripe, deep redcurrant and chocolatey oak flavors supported by serious dusty tannins. This mouthfilling wine finishes long and subtle. A splendid example of the variety, with real depth.
