Errazuriz

Errazuriz 'Wild Ferment' Chardonnay 2007

Errazuriz 'Wild Ferment' Chardonnay 2007 excellent value - 90 pts Wine Advocate

Tasting Notes

7/28/09
Over the past couple of years Errazuriz has made some very impressive Chardonnays with reviews that merit the quality and value put into the bottle. Big toasty oak and a fuller bodied, creamy texture aren’t part of equation, instead you get a deftly crafted wine that offers exceptional fruit purity, touched up with just the right amount of oak nuance, giving the peach and white tree fruit flavors a nice frame of spice, butter, toast and a touch of nuttiness without being excessively manipulated.. Medium bodied with lively, vibrant fruit this should drink beautifully over the next two-three years.

Awards, Reviews and other Notes

90 pts Wine Advocate June 2009 Issue #183
The light gold-colored 2007 Chardonnay Wild Ferment is 100% barrel-fermented but with only 17% new oak where the wine remained for 10 months. It has an expressive bouquet of buttered toast, spiced apple, and white peach leading to a surprisingly elegant, medium-bodied Chardonnay with tangy flavors and a long, pure finish. It can be enjoyed over the next three years.
