90 pts Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 2007 - Spicy blackberry and plum flavors offer impressive clarity and sweetness.
Tasting
Notes
The main component of fruit was sourced from the Ebenezer area in the Barossa Valley, which is located north of Nuriootpa. The vineyards soil structure is of a heavy loam. The vintage conditions were cooler with a longer ripening period. This wine shows characters of spice and ripe fruit, particularly raspberry and mulberry on the nose. The pallet has firm grippy tannins that is balanced by the rich concentration of fruit flavours.

90 pts Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 2007 Inky ruby. Intensely perfumed dark fruits, baking spices and flowers on the nose. Spicy blackberry and plum flavors offer impressive clarity and sweetness, with supple tannins contributing an impression of solidity. Expands and sweetens with air, finishing with excellent persistence.
89 pts Robert Parker, Jr.'s The Wine Advocate #143 The purple-colored 2006 Shiraz exhibits aromas of scorched earth, black raspberry, mulberry, and blueberry. Full-bodied and plush on the palate, this Shiraz nicely conceals ample soft tannins which should allow it to evolve for 3-5 years and drink well through 2020.
Winemaker Notes
The grapes matured at a baume of 15.5%. The fruit was crushed into an open ferment were it had acid added and underwent fermentation. The must was pressed out using a basket press. The wine finished fermentation in barrel, to give a better integration between the oak and wine. The wine has been rack and readjusted. The wine was filtered prior to bottling.
