1/12/10 The 2005 Cederberg ‘Cederberger’ is a blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Pinotage and 20% Shiraz, respectively. What gives this wines it allure is its approachability with its core of juicy assorted red berry flavors and ripe tannins. Not big in body this still has excellent fruit weight with a brightness and pitch that comes from high elevation fruit that gives this wine a lively palate feel and freshness. Displaying both fruit ripeness and acidity this has some interesting sauvage, briary notes to the red fruit flavors as well as some spicy, herbal undertones. With some extra bottle age this is drinking beautifully and should do so over the next couple of years.
