Aramis Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 serious wine for the money
Tasting
Notes
5/3/10
We carry mixed emotions in regards to Cabernet out of Mclaren Vale. Some we have tried have been impressive, others just well made red wines without any defining varietal characteristics. So when we tried this beauty, we looked at it as a Cabernet straight up and not a Cabernet from a specific place. That being said you can place it with the best from almost anywhere at its price point and this could easily be the one you went back to for a second glass. For the money this is really exceptional, impeccably balanced, with noted depth and structure to the assorted black fruit flavors.

The purple-colored 2005 Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a nose of earth, tar, spice box, black currant, and blackberry. This leads to a medium-bodied Cabernet with plenty of savory fruit, serious depth, and impeccable balance. Already showing some complexity, it will continue to add nuance with several more years of cellaring. Drink it from 2011 to 2020.
