Allesverloren Touriga Nacional 2008 Portuguese varietal
Tasting
Notes
August 2011
A Portuguese varietal used for making port style wines, Touriga Nacional as a stand alone varietal has been made at Allesverloren in small batches for a few years. The vines were first planted in 1990. The 2008 Allesvorloren Touriga Nacional shows a light spice, dried leafy top note to warmer darker red and mulberry fruit. Medium fuller to fuller bodied, this has nice balance, a juicy, supple mid palate with lighter tannins helping to firm up the dryer finish. The palate offers up darker red fruits, and a subtle spice kick with slight raisiny edge to the warm finish. Showing well as we speak this should be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years.
